We are a Mozambican Company with Multinational Participation, involved in salt extraction in Northern Mozambique, precisely in the City of Nacala Port in Nampula Province.

About us

We are a bridge in the gap between the end user of salt, be it food companies or households or retailers throughout the Northern and Central Provinces of Mozambique. We use sea water to produce salt which is the reason for the purity and nutritional value of our salt. The salt is then commercialized and valued for use by households.

Applying the salt

Food in general- Sodium chloride for the body to survive. The body needs 2/3 grams per day.

In agriculture – Just like humans, animals need Sodium Chloride to stay healthy.

Is the salt already iodized in the sea?

No, the salt company does the ionization only when they are packaging the salt.

Where is Ocean Fresh lda, in Nacala Velha or Ilha de Mozambique?

Ocean Fresh lda, is in the industrial area of Matola, in Nacala Port, just behind Camel Oil and near Cimentos de Maiaia.

What is the use of iodine?

Iodine is taken by mouth to prevent and treat iodine deficiency and its consequences, including goiter and some thyroid disorders. A specific type of iodine called potassium idodide is also approved by the US FDA to prevent thyroid damage after radioactive accidents.

Is the salt imported?

The salt from Ocean Fresh lda, is not imported, but is made in Mozambique.

Is the salt exported?

Yes Salt can be exported to neighboring countries like Malawi, Zimbabwe

Can salt be made into fine salt?

Yes, Salt can be refined and Ocean Fresh Lda, is working towards a project to refine salt.

Is there liquid salt?

Molten salt is solid salt at standard temperature and pressure but enters the liquid phase due to the elevated temperature. Regular table salt has a melting point of 801 degrees Centigrade.
